The successful candidate will have:
- A passion for driving product quality through testing
- The ability to find problems where others think none exist
- At least 5 years of experience in software testing
- At least 2 years of experience leading the testing of a software product
- Experience testing web applications on Windows
- Experience testing desktop applications on Windows
- Experience testing mobile applications on both Android and iOS
- Experience devising and writing test plans
- Experience developing automated tests and/or test frameworks
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies and their application
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels across the business
- Ability to listen well to others and rapidly assimilate new information.
- Excellent idiomatic written and spoken English (B2 standard or better)
The following experience is advantageous:
- Experience testing web or desktop applications on MacOS
- Experience working with Git, GitLab & JIRA
Responsibilities:
- Provide direction and leadership for the team of testers working on the core of MetaCortex’s desktop product.
- Help drive a culture of quality across all parts of the SDLC.
- Work as part of a team developing, executing and maintaining Test Frameworks using functional and non-functional test tools aiming to ensure quality and increase efficiency of delivery and as an integral part of the SDLC and release process
- Implement test tools and utilities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the development life-cycle
- Collaborate effectively with the wider test team to deliver a unified solution across all teams
- Work on initiatives to improve test processes, tooling and standards
- Design and implement test code and infrastructure in collaboration with the wider team to ensure code re-use and common practices
- Contribute to and influence end to end test strategy for the team and wider department
- Participate in the full development lifecycle from story definition through to verification.
- Work with DevOps to develop and refine deployment architecture
- Ensure selected technologies and platforms are the best fit for purpose
- Ensure product is responsive to the user and performs well with large data sets
- Ensure documentation is thorough and up to date
- Help drive continuous improvement in the product and supporting processes.
