QA Engineer

Driven by regulatory demand, our client, a top tier investment bank has to establish Global Operational Continuity in Resolution (OCIR) framework across the existing fragmented local solutions, harmonizing taxonomy, processes and procedures and increasing transparency on dependencies and risks in order to ensure and support going concern during resolution or stress situation.

Objective of our project is to provide a global analytics and MI solution using approved data sources, standardize and improve data quality. This global solution has to allow flexible configuration of regulatory rules to enable decommissioning of local fragmented solutions as well as flexible data models, business rules, documentation standards to ensure that capabilities and solutions are scalable, transparent and facilitate:

• Restructuring - timely execution of a bank’s recovery and resolution plan
• Reacting to ad-hoc regulatory requests or rules changes
• Adaptation to a long-term roadmap

• Leads and applies complex risk based, structured approach to testing, including exploratory and non-functional (i.e. performance testing, automation, security) testing techniques to develop a holistic test strategy that best meets the needs of the business
• Gathers input and applies technical and domain expertise to create test approaches and plans
• Leads development of test approaches, estimates and plans for complex integrated systems, and drives successful execution to ensure end result aligns with business need in collaboration with other teams
• Ensures delivery of testable and traceable requirements and effectively applies appropriate testing techniques to ensure comprehensive end-to-end testing
• Presents, and seeks approval for complex test approaches and plans
• Prepares and may oversee the preparation of test data and readiness of test environment prior to test execution
• Manages and participates in test case development, test execution, defect triage and resolution
• Execute manual functional / non-functional and regression testing if required
• Publishes and communicates effective test metrics that enable effective decision making around quality
• Makes recommendations regarding delivery quality and influences the business in implementation decisions
• Proactively engages with development teams to help promote prevention of defects early in project/development lifecycle

• Strong software testing background (certificate is a plus)
• Experience with front-end, back-end and database testing
• Good SQL skills
• Experience with distributed VCS (preferably - git)
• Jira, Confluence
• Comfortable working in an Agile environment

• Good command of Linux
• Good Python knowledge
• Experience in Test Automation
• Experience with BigData technologies (Cloudera CDH, HDFS, Hbase, Impala, Hive, Spark)
• Financial Services experience is a plus
