Procurement Manager - Packaging business
For our client we are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager with professional background in FMCG Business. The role will include the negotiation of strategic contracts to ensure cost, quality and delivery but will also look at a range of purchasing opportunities to save costs. The main objective of the role is to develop new procurement opportunities and good costs whilst maintaining company's security of supply.
Client Details
Our client is an international production company (mid-size business) in packaging sector located in central Poland. The company is a leading European plastic manufacturer specialising in personal care and food sector. We currently looking for the experienced and "hands-on" candidate for Procurement Manager. This role is a very unique opportunity to work at a senior level and have a direct effect on the success of a growing business. Procurement Manager will reports directly to the Managing Director Poland but will strong cooperate to MD's from other regions.
Description
- Establish and execute procurement strategy (10% indirect procurement, 90% direct procurement )
- Ensure the group is purchasing the right materials at the right price and with required lead times to meet production demand
- Strategically manage a spend to ensure maximum leverage on suppliers and optimum cost savings
- Spend diagnostic / internal analysis: Working with Business Units and functional departments to understand the business needs with respect to direct / indirect spend categories
- Contribute to further development and improvement of assigned portfolio by risk and opportunities assessment, benchmarking, direct negotiations, etc.
- Manage and develop a portfolio company vendors
- Ensure proper supplier performance, aim to develop supplier processes and technology, so that the best quality, service levels, and cost is delivered
- Assure proper communication at all levels, aiming to assess and target root-cause problems and find long-term solutions
- Assist continuous improvement with all production plants activities
- Budgeting - provide input on expected trends at the time of the annual operating plan
- Support / Coordinate all major commercial purchasing activities across all business units
- Drive cost savings projects and improvements in the supply chain activities
- Market / industry analysis
Profile
- Master's Degree or relevant education in Economics or Engineering
- 10 years of professional experience in purchasing in FMCG or Plastic processing / Packaging business
- Experience of working in a matrix multi-site international manufacturing environment
- Certification in purchasing or supply chain would be an asset
- A level of technical material knowledge required
- Polymer market pricing knowledge would be an asset
- Excellent analytical skills, strong financial knowledge
- Demonstrated networking, relationship building and influencing skills
- Results and quality orientation, attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as a part of the team
- Excellent Polish and English written and spoken
