Procurement Category Manager - IT

The Category Manager IT will be part of the European Procurement Team which is in its early stages of development, and expected to grow the next couple of years. The category spend includes all aspects of IT (HW, SW, IT professional services, outsourced services, Cloud, infrastructure, IT supplies) excluding Telecom. The role is based in Warsaw and reports directly to the European CPO based abroad.

Our client is a well-recognized Scandinavian company, one of the leaders in its field. The company was established nearly 100 years ago and provides specialized services both to various businesses and also to end-consumers.

Description

  • Develop and execute a 1-3 year strategic plan to realize category strategy targets and savings, as well as identify and act on short-term quick-wins
  • Identify each Cluster's needs, local drivers, and ability to influence and get buy-in from senior stakeholders
  • Lead cross-European sourcing opportunities and act as escalation point for any IT sourcing, procurement or data collection activities
  • Develop and implement IT category best-practices across Europe, as well as initiatives that will optimize total cost of ownership (TCO)
  • Establish close collaboration and efficient ways of working with the European Legal team on IT related contracts and projects
  • Ensure alignment on roles and responsibilities between European and Country procurement resources
  • Be responsible for the development, negotiation and management of IT supplier agreements

Profile

  • Master/Bachelor degree or equivalent education required
  • Minimum 7+ years of related experience
  • Well-versed, comfortable with, and very good understanding of IT's role, scope of work, processes, and typical challenges for an IT department
  • Extensive negotiation skills from negotiating IT contracts, preferably on regional level
  • Proven international leader with excellent project management and communication skills
  • Ability to build, lead and maintain senior level relationships and complex partner relationships
  • Comfortable in working in a de-centralized and geographically remote/virtual team environment
  • Outstanding change management skills, ability to adapt to and lead change effectively
  • Excellent in English and one other European language would be an asset
