Key responsibilities and authorities:
Consolidate core electrical circuit designs into specific applications for safety critical automotive products. This position is responsible for the integrated design work products including schematics, circuit DFMEA, and content documentation. In addition, design and creating of schematic symbols and physical footprint library parts for use within the corporate Cadence library for electronic design (schematic capture and PCB layout). Work with DFM team to affect best packages for standardization and manufacturability. Verifying technical data sheets and specifications (for electronic components) to create parts (symbols and footprints) and release them in component database. The position reports into the in-region Electrical Hardware Integration group as a corporate R&D function.
- Provide hardware support for development applications.
- Create and maintain schematics based on core designs.
- Create and maintain components in corporate Cadence library.
- Create circuit-level DFMEA based on core documents
- Review component specification and Data Sheets.
- Create technical documentation.
Qualifications required:
- Bachelor Electrical Engineering.
- Knowledge of electronic circuits and components for automotive use.
- Familiarity with product failure risk management tools (e.g, DFMEA).
- Experience working with customers and suppliers.
- Experience with:
- PCB layout tools including Cadence OrCAD and Mentor Graphics,
- IPC design rules for both FR4 and Flexible circuits,
- CAD drawing formats and tools.
- DFA and DFA,
- Working knowledge of schematic capture, PCB layout, and Library Editors tools.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft products (PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
- Good English.
Preferred skills:
- +2 yrs of experience with circuit design and worst-case circuit analysis /simulation.
- PCB design, fabrication, assembly, test processes awareness.
- Understanding of basic electrical circuit design to printed circuit boards.
- Experience with thermal constraints of circuit design and fundamentals of heat transfer.
