Client Details
Our Client is a German manufacturing company with offices & plants located in over 20 countries (including Opole with over 200 people employed). The Operations Manager will ultimately be responsible for a new manufacturing hall (dedicated to a new, major project for a very well-known American brand) which is under construction at the moment (and team of less than 100 employees).
Description
- Overseeing day-to-day operations; improving efficiency and increasing departmental profits while managing the company's overall operations
- Building and maintaining profitable relationship with key customers, development of new solutions in order to meet their needs
- Development of strategic plans for optimized productivity & business growth
- Reviewing and improving organizational effectiveness by developing processes, overseeing employees, establishing a highly motivational work environment and creating innovative approaches to improvement
- Upholding standards of excellence and quality; ensuring that departments or units deliver quality products to client
- Providing guidance and feedback in order to help others strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas
- Assign weekly performance goals and ensure completion.
- Responsible for managing both the revenue and cost elements of the new product: revenues, costs and expenses incurred
- Budget management, monitoring the financial health of a location and business unit, maintaining budgetary and resource allocation plans
- Development of key performance goals and managing the performance of staff
- Hiring new staff within a department or business unit
- Improvment of internal processes for better productivity
- Maintaining project timelines to ensure tasks are accomplished effectively and efficiently
- Delegating responsibilities to the best-qualified employees and enforcing all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, training programs, and cultural values
Profile
- At least Bachelor's degree in technical field
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Manager / Director of Operations in serial production (experience gained in Automotive / HVAC will be an additional asset)
- Fluency in English
- Ability to travel up to 30% by land and/or air
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, an ability to think ahead and plan over a 1-2 year time span, and strong customer orientation
- Ability to work cooperatively with others, ability to deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management
- Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to interchange with others in the department
- Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or board of directors
