Linux Administrator
Miejsce pracy: KrakówFor one of our Clients - a new American company on the polish market, operating in the area of new technologies we are looking for experienced Linux Administrator who will be responsible for:
- Install and Configure Linux Systems: Build, install, document and manage RedHat, Ubuntu, SUSE and CentOS servers. Ensure all systems are accurately listed in our Service Now CMDB.
- Perform System Maintenance: Perform routine system maintenance and resolve server-side issues as they arise. This aspect of the role requires the Linux administrator to review error logs and reported errors and seek out solutions. Ensure systems are patched and/or upgraded as needed.
- Configure System Backups: Linux administrators work with the backup team to ensure backups are configured as needed and monitor for success.
- Monitor System Performance: Linux administrators monitor system performance to prevent slowdowns and crashes. The administrator is also responsible for configuring monitoring and alerting through appropriate tools.
- Provide Technical Support and Guidance: Linux administrators provide technical support and guidance to users and other administrators. They work closely with developers, security and application teams to answer technical questions or resolve issues with server-side performance. They may also support users by assisting with installation and maintenance of Linux-based programs and help debug these applications so that they work with existing servers.
- Maintain System Security: Actively identify faults and vulnerabilities and work to remediate in a timely manner.
- Automation: Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment process.
Requirements:
- Perform system administration activities for SUSE, RedHat and OEL Linux, hardware systems, and associated operating systems
- Verify that all system components and software are functioning properly
- Monitor system performance and network communication
- Quickly perform or arrange for repair of failed hardware or software
- Manage storage and/or plan for growth and disaster recovery
- Monitor computing systems administration best practices and implement process improvements
- Identify and provide improvements/innovations in engineering systems
- Update systems for new version of OS and application software
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot, software applications on client/server platforms
- Manage licensing for 3rd party software
- Release, deploy, and make available validated software products as part of a software development project.
