We are looking for candidates to join a new GBS in Gdańsk on a position of:
Lead accountant
Responsibilities:
- Being the central point of contact and liaise with various stakeholders in respect of transactions performed by our Finance shared services centre in Gdansk
- Taking full responsibility for the financial book-keeping
- Month end close process - including the preparation and booking of journals,
- Reviewing of the financials reported for the specific entity
- Reviewing of Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Reviewing, monitoring and managing the quality of financial transactions and reporting prepared by other teams in the Gdansk Office
- Managing the relationship with our external accountants and tax advisors, who are responsible for preparing statutory accounts, VAT returns and annual tax returns.
- Monitoring and managing the treasury forecasting of the specific entities and deliver reports as requested.
- Continuously develop, optimize & standardize the finance processes both within your team and across teams in Gdansk.
- Reviewing the performance of other teams in Gdansk by providing feedback based on various performance dashboards
- Overseeing various accounting operations to ensure compliance with internal & external reporting requirements for both Group and Statutory reporting purposes.
- Managing and co-ordinate for all Internal and External audits
- Participation in ramp-up activities (recruitment, on-boarding, knowledge transfers)
Requirements:
- MA degree in finance or Business
- Strong experience in finance accounting or reporting (+5 years)
- Advanced knowledge in working with financial books
- Service minded approach to query handling
- Good Ability to Business partner
- Fluency in English
- Knowledge in process standardisation and improvement
- Good understanding of internal controls and risk management
- Willing to travel and international mind-set
