Java/JavaScript Automation Test Engineer

You will be working on staff and customer facing applications from investment area. Delivering solutions to support out relationships managers, business and premium customers. This is a new Team which builds a new Ingestion Framework from scratched, a new UI and integrating a Workflow utility.
Solution will provide Front Office trading supervisors with single ‘1 stop shop’ dashboard. The platform will facilitate ingestion of a broad range of Control data (from various global sources of data), carry out Workflow on that data and present it in a Portal / User Interface.
In project you will be responsible for:
- Building automated regression tests using Protractor/Cucumber/Selenium/Java/JavaScript
- Building automated API tests using Rest Assured
- Improving the use of BDD syntax for consumption for automation
- Performing manual and exploratory testing in the areas where there is an absence of any automation
- Participating in agile ceremonies (stand-up, planning, reviews) and contribute as a test resource
- Actively analysing stories and tasks to determine tests written in Zephyr
- Executing tests and track and manage any defects to closure
- Capturing test results and outputs using Jira/Zephyr and Confluence
- Assisting in any performance testing activities
Required skills:
- Must have at least 5 years in testing with most of the roles in test automation/development
- Degree in Computer Science/Engineering with ISEB qualifications
- Scripting/programming experience with Protractor, Cucumber, Selenium and Java/Javascript
- Experience with API testing and open source Performance testing tools such as JMeter
- Experience with building and enhancing testing frameworks
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins, Jira and Confluence
- Experience with BDD and Gherkin driven agile methodology
