Maersk owns 23 rigs across the globe. It’s a market leader in harsh environment and deep-water drilling, with one of the youngest and most advanced fleets in the industry. Maersk has just opened a new office in the center of Gdańsk.
The Offshore Connectivity Supervisor acts as a focal point for ongoing optimization of technology, vendors and services providers to Maersk Drilling for offshore WAN and telecommunication. The key objective is to make sure the offshore connections are constantly aligned and optimised in accordance with business requirements and is delivered through the most optimal mix of quality, cost and risk.
Further, The Offshore Connectivity Supervisor, acts as coordinator for the offshore connectivity setup involving stakeholders, vendors, providers, IT team and is part of the IT Offshore Communications team.
The Offshore Connectivity Supervisor is part of the IT Offshore communications team that holds the overall responsibility for the end to end WAN and telecommunication connectivity to-and from all rigs.
The team responsibility includes but is not limited to:
Requirements:
- Experience WAN / understand technologies
- Knowledge of WAN, VISAT, 4G, RadioLink
- Fluent in English, verbally and writing
- experience in working with Microsoft package/ applications

The Offshore Connectivity Supervisor is part of the IT Offshore communications team that holds the overall responsibility for the end to end WAN and telecommunication connectivity to-and from all rigs.
The team responsibility includes but is not limited to:
- Overall responsible for the end to end WAN and telecommunication connectivity to and from units
- Facilitate and manage any changes to the technology and bandwidth across all relevant teams and vendors. As well as TO Department, Operations, IT Operations, Network/Firewall team, Security team and service providers like ITC, SpeedCast, Orange BS, TDC, Conscia and NetDesign
- Facilitate design and deploy WAN and telecommunication connectivity to and from units
- Facilitate design and deploy voice communication from units, - ensure quality of voice communication is in accordance with expectations
- Continuous monitoring, analysis and suggest improvements for data and voice communication
- Governance on invoices and quotes submitted by telecommunication vendors and suppliers and being in control for submitted invoices
- Collaborate with Maersk Drilling IT Team members for upcoming improvements for telecommunication
- Provide input to RoFo for telecommunication OPEX
- Inform and update Maersk Drilling IT members on regular basis for plan and upcoming changes in telecom setup
- Holistic overview of existing WAN and telecom solutions in Maersk Drilling to offshore units, TO Department, Operation and IT Operations
- Initiate update meetings with TO and Operations on regular basis
- Update meetings with TO and Operation on regular basis
- Update and follow-up meetings with operating rigs as required to keep them sufficiently informed about changes, escalations, incidents and problem records
- Update Maersk Drilling IT Team and IT Operations team members regularly and as required
