Applikon Biotechnology B.V. is a privately owned Dutch high-tech company and a world leader in advanced bioreactor systems. Our products are used within the Life Sciences and Food Industry. Applikon works closely with many national and international universities and institutes. We are constantly developing new technologies for the bioprocessing industry. Our main office is located in Delft. With three subsidiaries in the USA, UK, and China, Applikon currently has more than 170 employees working in Marketing & Sales, Development, Assembly, QC, and After Sales Support of our products. Role description

For our Marketing & Sales department we are currently searching for a:

International Sales Manager

General tasks
The sales manager reports to the Director Marketing & Sales and focuses on the worldwide promotion and realisation of sales of bioreactor systems. The sales manager develops and executes the sales strategy for the coming years. The sales manager generates, maintains and monitors the annual operational annual plan as well as the quarterly sales plan. He/she manages a team of experienced and highly specialised area managers and sales engineers in order to realise the commercial goals of the organisation.

The sales manager is highly motivated to communicate with prospects, customers, partners and distributors as well as to acquire new customers. He/she encourages and supports the distributor network.
Managing the performance of the distributors is an essential part of the job and if necessary the sales manager will recruit / replace distributors.

Profile
We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a comparable function coordinating and expanding an international network of distributors and managing a sales team. As an eligible candidate who can lead the organisation to the next level in commercial performance, you have the following profile:

  • You have affinity for technology backed-up by a commercial education
  • You have at least 2 years’ experience in a comparable function
  • You possess excellent commercial and interpersonal skills
  • You like to optimise and coach a team of commercial professionals
  • You are a capable negotiator
  • You are independent and flexible
  • You have good knowledge of the English language (spoken and written), Dutch and Spanish being a plus
  • You are willing to make frequent trips abroad and have a driving license
  • As a plus point, you have familiarity with cGMP/FDA/GAMP guidelines
