Integration Solutions Manager

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

To develop, implement and quality assure workable systems / solution designs which are aligned to IT architectures / standards and deliver required outcomes for projects and other change activities. To develop low level design and build of solutions and/or manage the lifecycle of the technology infrastructure.

TYPICAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Design and deliver solutions to the BAT IT Services organization
• Ensure low level design and build of solutions are carried out in accordance to global standards
• Delivery of services to the exact design specification of the Solution Architecture team
• Relationship management of outsource provider, ensuring SLAs are adhered to and that appropriate quality control processes are in place
• Ambassador for the services and vendors delivering the services
• Provide advice and feedback to other service owners
• Manage the lifecycle of the approved products and solutions in use in BAT within their technology domain, to ensure that they remain within support and maintenance.
• Understand vendor roadmaps and End Of Life cycles to ensure relevance to BAT
• Ensure that any products that are due to go out of support have a plan for remediation and deployment
• For those products that have a major version update or a change of solution, liaison with the Solution Architecture team is required
• Promotes and ensures use of appropriate techniques, methodologies and tools
• Keep up to technical speed with chosen technical field or expertise

• IT Project Manager / Design Manager – to deliver agreed work products to time, cost quality
• Solution architects, IT Services - collaborate with to ensure any defined solutions are fit for purpose Strategic 3rd Party Vendors – Develop non-commercial relationships to collaborate in defining and designing the solutions
• External - keep up-to-date with changes within the IT and FMCG industries and with peer groups at other organizations, Special interest groups and Best Practice experts
• IT Standards & Governance – to ensure effective application of standard processes

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE

• Educated to degree level
• Extensive experience in systems development / design experience with evidence of progression
• Experience in large global organization using in-sourced and out-sourced IT service providers
• An ideal candidate from a non-BAT background will take 4-6 months to learn BAT processes and governance before being fully productive.
• Experienced in service management/development/business analysis in the area of enterprise application integration with preference for specialty in message-oriented middleware, big data integration, business process monitoring and API management
• Strong knowledge in enterprise application integration concepts such as message transformation, protocol mediation, routing rules, data manipulation, business value management, quality of service, process orchestration and business activity monitoring
• Good understanding of enterprise application integration concepts such as data standards, metadata & XML, content transformation & ETL and object-oriented programming to enable distributed, cross-platform communication and enterprise-wide data distribution
• Familiar with industry-standard protocol and architecture concepts such as HTTP, FTP, SOAP, REST, AS2 and SAP RFC with understanding of basic security concepts relating to SSL, SSH, PGP, firewalls and OAuth/SAML which enable secure communications
• Open to learning new technologies and able to adapt to industry trends in the integration areas such as the adoption of cloud solutions (especially iPaaS and hybrid integration architecture), using Agile and DevOps practices, API-driven integration, data-driven integration (including dPaaS) and digital transformation (including mobile and IoT integration)
• Knowledge of integration solutions such as SAP PI/PO, Axway API Gateway, OpenText Trading Grid and SAP Cloud Platform Integration will be an advantage and further skills in Talend Data Fabric, Elastic Stack, Apigee API Management and MuleSoft AnyPoint will be in line with the evolution of BAT’s integration strategy.
