Finance Director or Senior Financial Controller (Poland)

The role would support the Group Chief Financial Officer and lead Finance Business Partnering team. Ideal candidate has strong commercial and business acumen, excellent financial and accounting technical skills as well as business partnering approach.

Our Client is a well known international company, leader in its sector. We are urgently looking for an experienced and charismatic Finance Director or Senior Financial Controller (Poland).

Description

• Actively support the Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in fulfilling the financial and accounting functions in Poland to facilitate short, medium and long-term business objectives and company goals
• Manage a team of under 10 staff in Poland and report directly to the Group CFO and the Group Financial Controller
• Ensure the timely production of monthly and annual consolidated financial information and business analysis package for top management
• Be responsible for preparing of the tax settlement and reports (VAT, CIT) according to the tax office requirements and ensure correctness and timely submission of tax returns, tax declarations, other information/declarations required by the law (e.g. Statistical, Polish National Bank, etc.)
• Implement budgeting and forecasting systems, prepare and review budgets and forecasts against actual figures on a regular basis
• Be instrumental in implementing and monitoring cash flow forecast and management system;
• Manage key currency-related issues, identify how FX issues should be managed and implement FX forward contracts and other hedging strategies;
• Design and implement internal control system and procedures for accounting and related functions
• Work closely with consultants to prepare the transfer pricing documents
• Liaise with and provide appropriate financial information to financial institutes, external auditors, financial advisors, investors, etc.
• Work on financial feasibility study for new products and projects by thorough assessment of profitability, funding requirements and risks
• Work seamlessly with internal departments in providing requested financial and accounting information and advice where necessary
• Follow through finance and investment projects and participate in the Initial Public Offering (IPO) process.

Profile

• Degree holder (or equivalent) in Finance, Accounting or related disciplines with overseas exposure preferred
• Qualified Accountant with membership of a professional accounting organization which is recognized in Poland
• Minimum 10 years' experience in auditing / accounting / controlling experience with sizable establishments, preferably with BIG4
• Experience in managing a team of 5-10 people is a must
• Strong skills in consolidation for group company accounts at the Polish level
• Proven abilities in the implementation of budget, cash flow forecast and management system
• Well acquainted with Polish accounting standards, company laws, taxation regulations with experiences in the IFRS
• Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and sound knowledge of different accounting software and ERP systems, including Sage, Symfonia Finances and Accounting and SAP
• Mature, motivated, independent with strong technical knowledge, solid commercial experience, robust work ethic, and good interpersonal skills
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Polish (at native standard)
• Work experiences in a multi-national environment preferable
• Travelling and overseas training required.
