FEA Development Engineer
Scope of duties:
There are two main objectives of your new job. The first one is to support Manufacturing and Sales and provide significant contribution to resolution. You will reach the goal by applying of technical understanding of materials science, refractory products and their process. Steel customers’ practices will be extended to plan, carry-out and exploit experiments for failure analyses.
The second objective is to ensure a connection with other R&D entities and Europe Manufacturing for supporting area growth: help in design validation, and occasionally help for Transfer Of Technology (preparation and follow-up). This can extend to provide an assistance in R&D projects
Working on the position means close collaboration with other R&D sites, technical and product managers for capitalizing analyses practice and field experience. You will lead or support product trouble shooting through 8D Practical Problem Solving method and you will lead or support product improvement projects globally. Position will indeed combine activities in laboratory, operations and steel plants, you may also be involved in cost savings projects.
Requirements:
• Master’s or Ph.D Degree in Materials or related engineering field.
• Excellent English both written and verbal. 2nd foreign language (eg French) appreciated.
• 2- 6 years’ materials research or new product/process development experience in related material composition or process field.
• Technical writing and documentation.
• Direct experience with refractory products for steelmaking/ Foundry applications is also desirable.
• Advanced skills in Solidworks or equivalent 3D design.
• Knowledge and experience in FEA (programing and interpretation) or/and thermodynamic simulation are appreciated.
• Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
