For our Client - a global financial service centre which is providing operational and professional services to support various business groups and functions.

Your new role

Global Risk Analytics is responsible for analytical controls covering design, development, implementation, optimisation and validation of models. Team’s mandate is to identify risks, new trends, management information, forecasts, and recommend methodology amendments primarily for non-Regulatory purposes. Activities may also support regulatory supervisoin and policy development.

The broader team is responsible for the configuration, oversight, governance and control of all processes related to the Transaction Monitoring models.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support model optimisation of Transaction monitoring models and data driven analysis to help risk decision for Global Risk Analytics and Financial Crime Risk sub-function.
  • Work with medium and large data sets to manipulate, transform and enrich structured data and identify patterns and trends in data
  • Conduct review and analysis towards driving the department FCR model optimisation/tuning methodology, change implementation and model effectiveness/efficiency
  • Translating complex ideas into easily understandable solutions and analysis
  • Working independently with remote teams and delivery partners
  • Support Group-wide model governance framework for providing consultancy and support to regions and risk steward and risk owners to proactively identify / elicit / articulate / priorities process improvement areas.
  • Reviewing and improving the existing suite of models and methodologies
  • Driving improvements in the systems and data infrastructure supporting deployment of the risk models,
  • Coordinating projects aimed at aligning methodologies, governance and policies around the Group
  • Developing actionable improvement plans in monitoring customer behaviour and AML scenarios with the optimal mix of qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques
  • Interpret regulatory requirements and their impact on the business
  • Calibrate department FCC models helps in order to enhance risk-return for the business

What you'll need to succeed

Basic:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in data analysis and statistical modelling
• Degree in a numerical field (Math, Statistics, Computer Science, or related)
• Experience in data analysis within databases (preferably Hadoop/Teradata) using SQL/HQL to analyse large datasets
• Proficiency in Python & SQL, Excel, Hadoop (Hive), SPARK
• Working with complex system architecture and data sets and handling large volumes of data
• Understanding of Advanced statistical methods/functions
• Good communication (verbal and written) and stakeholder management skill
• Exposure to machine learning models including supervised Learning: Regression Analysis, Generalized Linear Model, Decision Trees, SVM, etc.
• Strong analytical skills with complex data type and format Clustering: K-means, Hierarchical clustering, etc.
• Demonstrate analytical thinking, sound judgment, critical analysis, attention to detail and provide value-added advice • Able to work independently with limited guidance

Good to have:

• Knowledge of Google cloud (GCP) and big query will be an added advantage
• Experience with model governance / documentation
• Familiarity with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and transaction monitoring systems
• Knowledge of Qliksense / Qlickview or exposure to any other viualization tool like Tableau.
• Good understanding of the business activities for a large global banking group with diverse operations from retail banking, wealth management, commercial banking, global banking, investments, transaction services, asset management, private banking and insurance
