THE COMPANY
Our client is a professional Food organization, based in Namen Belgium.
This client operates in the B2B Food industry. In order to stay on top of their game, they invest in the quality and education of their personnel. For this role, experience with fermentation, enzymes and lab work for the food industry is key.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
To sum it up, you have two responsibilities. First of all, you’re a leader. You coach a team of up to 10 FTE on a daily basis, are responsible for their development, motivation and performance. This is why this role is only for the skilled and communicative, and with your proven record in managing different teams across different locations, you've got this! Because of the distance between plants, you don't micro-manage. Instead, you inspire. Secondly, you're a scientist. In order to substantiate your connection with the team, you have a long background in bio-chemistry or food technology. Since you’re working in the enzyme unit, knowledge of fermentation, DNA-cloning and functional food ingredients allows you to level with the team. Finally, you’re the face of your team and responsible toward other BU’s, so you’re unafraid to spar with marketing and share the value of your knowledge.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Sharing findings with other BUs
• Working closely with other research units
• Collaborating with external (scientific) partners
• Create a vision on how to produce a proper enzyme host
• Managing your staff across plants and seniority levels
• Structuring projects with stage-gate methodology
REQUIREMENTS
• Technical/Bioengineering Degree
• Experience with enzymes/fermentation/DNA cloning
• Interest in the food industry
• Proven leadership ability
• Ability to travel between the Namur and Brussels plants
• Professional English
