EMEA Tax Manager

The European Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and reporting of the European region local country income tax accrual as well as the local country income tax compliance processes. This position will be a key part of the International Tax Team, handling global corporate tax and trade issues. The position will be based in Warsaw, Poland but will serve the European region, thus travel will be required.

The European Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and reporting of the European region local country income tax accrual as well as the local country income tax compliance processes. This position will be a key part of the International Tax Team, handling global corporate tax and trade issues. A successful candidate will have experience with a wide range of international tax issues, ideally including experience with a large multinational company, or public accounting experience. A successful candidate must have the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment and work closely and proactively with numerous functional teams across our organization. The position will be based in Warsaw, Poland but will serve the greater European region, thus travel will be required. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Tax. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Description

  • Maintain required level of technical knowledge
  • Manage corporate tax compliance services, working closely with other members of the Tax team as well as outside tax advisors and service providers to ensure timely filings of tax returns
  • Manage the preparation of off-cycle, quarterly and year-end tax accrual calculations for the European region group of entities, as needed
  • Assist with day-to-day operational tax department responsibilities including notice resolution, tax audit resolution, and other tax controversy matters as they arise
  • Assist with the research and preparation of documentation for tax accrual computations, year-end financial audit inquiries, and departmental policies and procedures
  • Work collaboratively and coordinate with colleagues in Internal Tax, M&A, Transfer Pricing, Finance and Legal teams
  • Maintain positive working relationships with local legal entity finance teams across the region

Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; Master's in Accounting; CPA preferred
  • 8 years of relevant tax experience with a U.S. based multinational corporation preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Internet Explorer software
  • Ability to multi-task and handle several priorities simultaneously
  • Articulate responsibilities with excellent verbal and written communication skills; fluency in English required
  • Ability to self-audit work product for reasonableness before submission to ensure accuracy
  • Self-starter, able to execute well to completion with minimal direction
  • Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated
  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized
  • Ability to work with team members
  • Strong project management skills
