Job purpose:
For this critical part of our international delivery process, you will work closely with Customs officials to ensure that proper checks and processes are completed. Using our in-house computer systems, you will prepare formal documentation for Customs clearance. Naturally we will invest in the training, required to develop your specialist skills.
Key Accountabilities:
Your daily duties will include reviewing shipments data, to identify Customer and regulatory requirements, ensures compliance of supplied documents with trade laws and regulations; following through, to obtain clarification when needed (Customer, government agencies, within FedEx etc.), seeking guidance for more complex/high impact transactions; escalating potential breach of regulations including all relevant support information. You will also provide advice to the Customer on alternative clearance services and participates in process improvement initiatives.
Please note that the job might require non-standard working schedule: Tuesday - Saturday! - depending on the team and covered market.
Requirements:
Ideal Candidates should hold a University Degree in Commodity Studies/Logistics/Transportation or other relevant subject and speak excellent English. Fluent German or French is also required for team covering French and German markets. You will need previous administrative/customer service experience along with excellent communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to make sound numerical decisions.
