Our client is a professional Food organization, based in Belgium.

This is a family owned international manufacturer of high-quality chocolate, serving the entire food industry from manufactures to end-users. Activities range from processing cocoa beans to eventually produce chocolate. They value teamwork and through the encouragement of entrepreneurship and passion towards its customers they focus on delivering the best service they can.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

You will be a Packaging Development Manager during the execution of cross-functional packaging projects to set-up and catalyse the development of new packaging programs in the EMEA region. This position is the result since the company started to seriously invest in their packaging department in 2012.

In an inspiring and transparent environment you will be leading a team and together you are responsible for the implementation and innovation of new packaging strategies at different production sites in the EMEA region. This will also give you the opportunity to really understand the fundamentals to eventually grow and develop yourself as an asset to the company.

Passion, team spirit and integrity are essential characteristics are therefore standards for a succesful working process. In this function you will need to be experienced in engineering but you will also need to have well developed communication skills to work together with different departments and stakeholders within and outside the company in the EMEA area.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Managing team members and prioritize which projects to focus on while regularly giving team feedback on their progress
- Travelling to different production sites in the EMEA region to organize and support the local packaging process
- Integration of marketing and strategic needs in order to develop new packaging programs and projects
- Use SAP to develop and implement packaging specifications
- Identification of external co-packaging partners to generate cost savings

REQUIREMENTS

- Degree in Engineering or Food Technology, packaging experience is required
- Fluent in English
- 6-10 years of experience in food related packaging development and team management
- People management and leadership skills
- Specific knowledge of packaging materials and machinery
- Technical knowledge of packaging research, development and testing
- B2B or B2C experience
- Out-of-the-box thinker who is creative and self-driven
