Development Engineer
To assist with product application management in the region and support on continuous improvement projects. To ensure continuous support, improvement and performance of a product. To operate as first point of contact for regions' expertise requests on product within your remit, and support throughout the product life cycle including product performance and quality concerns.

- Supporting application projects (level 1-2) as determined in the region and based on market-requirements and/or trends.
- Proper documentation and management of assigned projects; escalate bottlenecks rapidly to management.
- Supporting with identifying, getting approval for and managing continuous improvement of recipe formulations including raw material substitution.
- Supporting with NPI go-to-market product performance success following the hyper-care launch phase and with the CoE handover completed from an R&D perspective ; then further handing over to Region M&T / Technical Services in line with NPI launch plan.
- Uphold and seek improvements to test methods, and processes in R&D and in plant QC labs.
- Supporting customer trials as technical application expert.
- Participating in auditing process to assess product knowledge and capability amongst region commercial/M&T teams.
- Meaningful presence at customer sites and manufacturing locations to build and maintain a reputation of technical expertise and problem solving ability.
Profil kandydata
- Master's degree Material Science, Chemistry, or relevant engineering field.
- Deep experience: Steelmaking, Ironmaking, Refractory Manufacturing or Refractory Design, Refractory New Product Development.
- Knowledge of: ceramics and refractories, liquid metal process technology and metal-refractory interaction, and of thermo-mechanical modelling.
- Comfortable in managing stakeholder maps.
- Managing complex stakeholder maps.
- Confident in customer interactions, running trials at customer sites.
- Experience in training sales/technical service on products.
- Developing material for & running relevant workshops / discussion groups.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to innovate and learn new technical concepts quickly.
