Database Specialist

We are a global function of over 2,500 people, and are part of the wider Infrastructure Delivery organisation.
We work in partnership with the Infrastructure Architecture Function to set the vision and roadmap for all technologies across Infrastructure Delivery and to deliver Service designs in support of business IT programmes.
We can categorize Enterprise Services in the following key areas:
- Platform services. Where we securely store and analyse customer and transaction data in accordance with compliance and standards. This includes technologies such as mainframes, UNIX and Linux servers, iSeries (Mid-range), Windows and storage. As well as technologies such as Java application servers, databases and messaging services.
- Developer Services which allow our customers faster delivery of highly standardised platform services, for example, Virtualisation, ALM, Dev Engineering, GSDE, private cloud
- We also run some important programmes, most notably, our Service Change Lifecycle Programme, will be delivering benefits in the way we work with you in the business to estimate, plan and deliver the work effectively
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide primary support and expertise to Operational lead and program sub-functions for database management
- Provide SME knowledge and best practice to support projects that engage with project
- Creates, collaborates and contributes to project goals in order to ensure reliability of database infrastructure
- Independently performs assignments to achieve stated objectives and resolve non-routine issues without appreciable guidelines from others.
- Cultivates an environment that supports diversity and reflects the client brand
SKILLS
MUST
- Basic knowledge DB2 z/OS mainframe or DB2 LuW on unix systems
- Very good knowledge of MS SQL Data Studio
- Good knowledge Microsoft Database Server
- Team player in an international team
- Good knowledge/experience working with collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence)
- Basic knowledge of Oracle Database.
NICE TO HAVE
- Toad for database administration for Oracle
- Toad for database administration for MS SQL and Sybase
- Broadcom CA Datamanager or Toad for database admin for DB2 LuW
- Knowledge of German language (spoken) would be a plus
