For our Client we are currently looking for Candidates for the position of:
Data Engineer
Location: remote / Warsaw
Job type: B2B (with Hays Poland)
Length: long-term cooperation
Rate: 130-180zł/h netto+vat
Start date: ASAP
Remote work: 100% remote
Tech stack: Data Engineer, Apache Spark, Python, Java, SQL
Project:
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer (a person with Apache Spark understanding (in Scala)) for one of our Clients - Media House from Switzerland.
What will you do:
• As a team member you will take part in a project run on the Google Cloud with the Apache’s Spark data processing in its centre.
• As a Data Engineer you will integrate various technologies and data sources.
• You will also make a strong contribution to a day-to-day work with Data Scientists discussing and understanding business requirements that enable providing custom articles newsletters and recommendations.
• The ideal candidate should be well familiar with Apache Spark (in Scala), Python data processing (pandas), Java (core, Spring), SQL (Postgres, BigQuery) and have some basic knowledge on the GC.

What we expect from you:
• Senior level (min. 5 years of working experience in a similar role)
• Strong programming background (with hands-on experience, clean code)
• Java 11 (Spring, Maven),
• Understanding of Rest API design
• Python 3.x (Celery, Pandas)
• Scala – some experience with Scala API for Apache Spark
• Experience with "Big Data" and distributed computing
• Knowledge of SQL (e.g. also including performance optimization) ideally in the context of DWH
What would be a plus:
• Docker, Kubernetes
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform
• Experience with Elasticsearch
• Basic knowledge of HTML/css/javascript
What will the recruitment process look like:
