Description
We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our international, dispersed team focused on providing Travel Intelligence – using infrastructure to prepare analysis for internal clients around the world.
Main task
- Understand the business of the customer and the main performance indicators that can be leveraged to improve activity or decrease costs.
- Work closely with the customers to identify and answer relevant customer questions using appropriate statistical techniques on available data.
- Drive the collection of new data, both internal and external, and ensure its accuracy. Drive the refinement of existing data sources.
- Communicate findings to all relevant internal and external contributors in a way that is accessible to each audience.
Required skills
Must have:
- 3+ years of experience
- Experience using Big Data technologies: Python and/or R for data analysis (with pandas/dplyr), SQL (possibly on Hive and/or Impala), Spark and Scala
- Experience using GIT
- Hadoop ecosystem knowledge
- Experience in bash scripting
- Ability to work and solve problems independently (without continuous manager intervention)
- Self-discipline and good methodology to work with dispersed team (write good documentation, good code commenting, good knowledge sharing)
- Ability to communicate remotely with internal clients, transforming desired features into requirements
- Ability to run multiple projects in parallel
- As the final objective is to present data to internal clients, an interest in data visualization and presentation is needed
- Excellent command of English (at least at C1 level). Polish is not required.

- A previous experience of the travel industry (Travel Agency, Airline) is highly appreciated
