Classification Specialist
This is a new opportunity to be the point of contact for Classification matters, to understand the strategy of business and its related main International Trade Compliance needs, issues and priorities. You will use knowledge of ITC laws, regulations, policies and procedures on a daily basis.

Our client is a global, American company manufacturing chemicals. Their wide range of products are sold to numbers of consumer and industrial end markets.
Description
- Develop and maintain expertise on the rules and processes for: harmonized tariff schedule classification, export controls classification (under the Wassenaar Arrangement), and classification under PIC, Explosives, Drug Precursors EU/CH/UK legislations.
- You will become a company expert and act as point of contact to advise businesses.
- Check revisions and updates on law, regulations and classification are closely monitored and applied in the systems.
- Develop knowledge of company's products, applications and technologies.
- Establish a standard of working knowledge of country and international trade regulations and communicate it to company stakeholders.
- Act a support to sample process on Customs Classification, Legal control classification & Technology.
- Work as part of an international team to develop trade compliance programs, policies, and processes.Support the maintenance and operation of databases - housing commodity codes, OGA&Y Codes and documents related to Import and Export in the systems.
- Answer to the customer requests and provide the required documents (Export Control Classification sheet).
- Cooperate with the business and support critical trade compliance protocols (in both the Export & Import areas including audits).
- Actively support the ITC management team in development and implementation of corporate ITC team strategy, as well as design and promotion of global trade compliance management program.
Profile
- WCO Harmonized Systems Commodity Code Certification.
- Bachelor or Masters degree in Chemistry.
- Experience within the chemical sector, in an international trade compliance area.
- IT skills - proficiency in MS office and SAP/GTS preferred or - S/4 Hana.
- Excellent communication in English.
- Effectively investigate, analyze and deal with the broad range of product and technology classification challenges.
