The Chief Accountant reports to the Executive Director and contributes to the overall success of the organization by effectively managing all financial tasks, overseeing budgeting, accounting, inventory, sales and processes.

Client Details

Our Client is a wholly-owned subsidiary of a worldwide industrial products manufacturer/distributor, is seeking an English speaking/writing Chief Accountant to join their team located in our Katowice sales and services office.

Description

  • Preparation and processing of all basic accounting recordings including Bank transactions, vendor/supplier invoices, Preparation of payment transfers, payroll accounting
  • Regular preparation and processing of customer invoice dunning
  • Preparation of month end close including reconciliation of bank, inventory, trade- and intercompany accounts receivables and payables, prepayments and accruals
  • Preparation of regular balance sheet accounts review
  • Act as a financial consultant to the Executive Director, providing support in accounting, procedures, policies, as well as in helping to assess risk and analyze efficiency
  • Insures the reporting to Corporate Finance according to company rules and policies
  • Provide accurate and comprehensive financial information/reports to the Executive Director for long-term financial strategy
  • Works with Executive Director and Sales Managers in the analysis of their respective monthly sales reports and in the preparation of their annual corporate budgets
  • Review monthly results and implement monthly variance reporting as compared to budget
  • Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (US-GAAP)
  • Ensure that all statutory requirements of the organization are met including Tax
  • Develop, maintain and implement financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow and reports
  • Implement improvement processes and systems to reduce inventory, minimize costs and
    maximize working capital

Profile

  • University degree in Accounting (or comparable education)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years related experience in general accounting/controlling
  • Experience in Product & Service business highly desirable
  • Suitable background experience in inventory management / purchasing
  • Have a detailed understanding of inventory control
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills to evaluate alternatives and provide recommendations on business issues
  • Knowledge of financial/accounting principles and practices
  • Experience with ERP and warehouse management system (such as MS Navision or Dynamics AX)
  • Strong computer skills, excellent knowledge of spreadsheet software
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Very good command of both written and spoken English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player
