Chief Accountant - for Belgian entities
Main purpose of the role is to provide accounting and tax guidance and support to the Belgium team, ensure monthly closures are done on time and on quality, and respond to accounting inquiries from management in a timely fashion. The scope comprises 2 companies located in Belgium.

Currently they make a great investment in Cracow, where they centralize processes and create new positions to add more competence in their functional areas.
Description

Oversee accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions performed by the team for 2 Belgian companies,

Responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures,

Provide support for e.g. tax returns, VAT, corporate tax (ISOC), Annual Accounts,
-
Ensure and implement a Control framework in line with Group guidelines,

Ensure month-end and year-end close processes are done on time and with a high level of quality

Supervise and assist with tax audits and tax returns,
-
Analyse financial discrepancies/variances and recommend effective resolutions,
-
Respond to accounting inquiries from management in a timely fashion. Monitor expenditures, analyse revenues, determine budget variances, and report the same to management,

Assist in budget preparation and in auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentations.
Profile
-
Higher educational degree in Accounting or other equivalent certification,

10 years of proven experience within financial controlling or accountancy,

Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts,
-
Understanding of Belgian accounting, IFRS, Corporate tax (ISOC) and indirect tax (VAT),
-
Hands-on experience with accounting software packages/ERP (SAP is an additional asset),
-
Fluent in English (speaking and writing),
-
Accuracy and attention to detail,
-
Result-oriented and "problem solving" mind.
