For our Client, international company from Retail Cosmetics & Fashion sector, with over 2 000 stores worldwide, we are currently looking to fill the position of:

Business Manager/ Buying Director Cosmetics & Fashion

The person working on this position will be responsible for managing the Cosmetics & Fashion brands portfolio. He/She will be reporting directly to the Managing Director and managing a team of buying, sales and marketing specialists. The Business Manager/ Buying Director will be responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision for the Polish market, build product assortment plans, sales analyzing and setting sales budgets, inventory control and margin management. He/She will be also responsible for developing retail chain, opening new stores and managing sales process. Business Manager will oversee marketing activities and work closely with other departments to ensure revenue goals are met.
Key responsibilities:
  • Develop, process and execute the brand vision and buying & sales strategy for the Polish market
  • Oversee the product cycle from building assortment plans through to allocation and sell-out support
  • Provide analysis and evaluation of key strategies for each brand, sales and margin management
  • Demonstrate detailed financial benefits to support changes and validate decisions, managing profitability per brands
  • Driving sales activities, hitting sales targets, communicating buying directions and gain constant feedback on product
  • Ensure timely ordering of commercially viable product range
  • Set selling prices to optimize the high gross margin/high volume balance
  • Effectively manage inventory through stock movement and markdown of product including stock transfers
  • Brand positioning, marketing strategy execution, especially in-store initiatives
  • Constant market competitors’ monitoring
  • People management


Main requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience on similar position in the Cosmetics or Fashion sector
  • Fluent English spoken and written
  • Excellent knowledge of buying and merchandising process, experience in setting up purchasing strategy to achieve defined business objectives across different product categories
  • Experience in planning and forecasting, analyzing commercial activities and implementing action plans in order to reach the targets, strong analytical skills
  • Great understanding of Retail/ Cosmetics & Fashion market and awareness of competition’s efforts
  • In-depth knowledge of the retail management, driving sales
  • Marketing experience, especially in-store tools
  • Used to interpreting data and driving value adding insights
  • Strong budget management experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills, leadership and great team management skills, encouraging initiatives
  • Able to promote cross functional effectiveness
  • Decision making oriented & able to quickly react to changing environment
  • Independent character, maturity
