Business Information Modeller
Job Description
The business data architecture (BDA) represents all the information about data which supports and enables all the critical data management tasks in the business and across IT, starting with Data governance and Data Quality and continuing through to Data Design. The meaning of data (aka data definitions) and the business rules used to manage it are essential to governing and measuring data quality. The meaning and usage are also key to prioritizing and managing data quality issues. The data lifecycle, ownership and data provenance are essential to investigating and remediating DQ issues. Data consistency requires clear business and IT data sourcing decisions. Business, Data and IT teams alike will use this information to ensure proper management of data through its lifecycle. The BDA facilitates and keeps track of all this data (aka metadata) enabling data governance, data management and, standard and effective business and IT usage.
In summary the Business Data Architecture (BDA) captures, governs and supports the information about the meaning, purpose, use, owners, producers, consumers, provenance, golden sources and trusted integrated copies of data. The Group Business Data Architecture strategy defines a sustainable, standard and reusable business view of information about companys data. At the centre of this strategy we have the Business Information Model (HBIM), a model of our data that consolidates the business view (definitions, classifications, relationships and dependencies). The HBIM is made available via the Group Data Dictionary (Collibra).
