Our client is a professional Agriculture and Food organization, based in Belgium.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Our client is looking for a Business Development Director with experience in the field. You will lead a team of 7 and be responsible for coordinating the value propositions. For this, you are communicative, a strong negotiator and everything but boring! It's never a dull day in this market, of which you get to grow Biobest's share.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Leads the product management and communication teams
- Coordinates the development of Biobest value proposition
- Helps the product management team align product offering with corporate strategy and develop and roll-out international product launches for Biobest innovations
- Develops market intelligence
- Coordinates market and customer needs research activities
- Is responsible to ensure that Biobest, its products, strategies and activities are prominently visible and positively perceived by all stakeholders (in particular growers and distributors)
- Develops marketing instruments at group level to support and streamline marketing actions conducted by different Biobest subsidiaries across the globe

REQUIREMENTS

- Have an M.Sc. in Plant Sciences, Bio-engineering or equivalent
- Have at least 5 years business experience serving the horticultural industry
- Be passionate about sustainability and up to speed on sustainable crop management (IPM and Plant Health)
- Be creative and innovation-driven
- Have strong written and oral communication skills
- Be skilled in project management; experience with “stage-gate” process is an advantage
- Have an ability to lead and motivate a team and to manage external service providers
- Demonstrate experience in B2B marketing, including with the use of internet and social media
- Enthusiastic and be able to inspire customers, employees and other stakeholders
- Be fluent in English, other languages especially Spanish are a major asset (FR, ES, DE, NL)
- Be prepared to travel on a regular basis
