AWS Data Engineer
Job Profile Summary:
Experience and responsibilities:
- Developing and executing data pipelines in Data Lake analytics platform to provide accurate and timely data.
- Ability to advise stakeholders on detailed technology and development practice & estimates
- Ability to make effective decisions within fast-moving Agile delivery and to lead on troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of tools, design methodologies and best practices
- Ability to clearly communicate technical design both written and verbally
- Ability to collaborate with other data engineers using version control tools (e.g. Git)
- Experience in continuous integration tools and techniques (e.g. Jenkins, AWS CodeBuild, AWS CodeDeploy)
Requirements:
- Practical experience with data warehousing (Snowflake and/or Redshift)
- Coding proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python/Java/Scala)
- Experience using SQL queries, experience in writing and optimizing SQL queries in business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
- Experience with streaming and event-processing architecture including technologies such as AWS Kinesis / Apache Kafka and change-data-capture products e.g. AWS / DMS, QlikReplicate (Attunity)
- Experience with ETL batch processing including technologies such as: AWS Glue, Apache Spark, AWS EMR
- Experience with tools for data orchestration processes: AWS CodePipeline, AWS Step Functions, Apache Airflow
- Experience developing multiple large-scale data processing solutions
- Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or any related field
- Knowledge of AWS technologies including: RDS, S3, Athena, EMR, EC2, Lambda, SNS, SQS
