Role Description

The Omics Lab is a laboratory situated in the Discovery Sciences division, which is a center of excellence focused on small molecule drug discovery. The scientists perform cutting-edge research together with a deep network of partners and collaborators - from target & lead discovery through pre-clinical safety assessment to discover and develop transformational medicines in the fields of Cardiovascular & Metabolism, Immunology, Infectious Diseases & Vaccines, Neuroscience and Oncology.

Responsibilities

The Associate Scientist will be expected to support several projects with a focus on microarray technologies and to some extent Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) applications. You will be responsible for sample preparation and performing the experiments in the lab in order to ensure that optimal data is available for subsequent analysis by microarray and NGS informatics experts in the team.

Requirements

- a Bachelor degree in Biochemistry, Laboratory Sciences or related disciplines
- 0-2 years' experience working with DNA/RNA sample preparation methods
- hands-on experience with microarray and/or NGS associated techniques such as PCR, library preparation and target enrichment is a strong plus
- have the drive and capability to produce high quality data that can be translated into biologically meaningful information - always taking care data integrity is ensured
- team player and excellent communication and reporting skills
