THE COMPANY

Our client is a professional Pharmaceutical organization, based in Zuid-Holland Netherlands.

They are an international company with locations all over the world. Their Clinical Immunology department is in Leiden and is responsible for the immunological evaluation of vaccine candidates in clinical trials.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Clinical Immunology department defines the immunological strategy supporting the clinical development, and ensures the development, and validation of the required immunological assays, and clinical sample analysis. Typical assays to determine the immunogenicity of vaccines are the antibody ELISA, T cell ELISpot, Intracellular Cytokine Staining, and virus neutralization assays.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As assistant scientist you will report to the lab operations manager for training and job performance, and you will collaborate with a scientist or study director who will provide study plans describing the required experiments. You will independently perform the experiments based on these study plans and lab protocols. The activities will be performed in a GCLP accredited lab, meaning that all activities must follow prescribed procedures, and must be accurately documented in lab note books and electronic systems such as LIMS. You will report the data to the scientist, discuss the outcome and plan for follow up experiments.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor degree with minimal 1 year relevant work experience
• Experience with immunological assays; Flow Cytometry is a must (1 yr), and ELISPOT (plus)
• Affinity with operational excellence
• Experience with GMP/GLP and or GCP environments
• Experience with LIMS is a pre
• Experience with writing procedures is a pre
