Assistant Manager

Main purpose of the role:

Lead, manage and develop R2R teams.

Ensure the delivery of a high quality, customer focused service on daily basis to client in accordance with agreed Service Level Agreements and Operational Level Agreements. Participate in project management. Monitor and report on results in operational area. Continuously build positive relationship with the Client.

 

Main Accountabilities:

 

Service Delivery:

  • Delivers a high quality, professional and proactive day to day service to client, within agreed SLA’s.
  • Being responsible for the following financial activities from area of General Ledger:

o General Ledger Account Reconciliation

o Journal Entry Processing

o Fixed Assets

o Closing Deliverables & Reporting,

o Other GL duties

  • Monitors and reports to the manager progress on deliverables’ approval and updates on ongoing manner.
  • Monitors if any changes to the scope are introduced by the Client and report those to Service Delivery Manager
  • Contacts the manager if priorities assigned for operations and services delivered to the Client cannot be met. Reports to the manager insufficient resources required to perform operations for the Client.
  • Supports monthly billing calculations.
  • Supports financial forecasts for the project.
  • Identifies project related costs and reports them to the manager.

 

Project Management:

  • Participates in project planning and project executing.
  • Participates in discussions with the Client on objectives, targets, and deadlines for service delivery.
  • Assists the manager in assigning appropriate resources in terms of employees as well as equipment to ensure service is delivered at agreed level.
  • Reports to the manager potential the risk related with operations performed.
  • Identifies and reports issues and problems as well as recommends potential solution to those at operational level.

  • Continually strives to simplify, standardise and improve processes
  • Continually considers improvement opportunities and encourages the team to do the same
  • Focuses on continuously developing business relationships.

 

Team Management:

  • Participates in recruitment process.
  • Monitors workload assigned to employees and advise Team Leaders on allocating work to the team members. Promotes cooperation, teamwork and knowledge sharing.
  • Participates in employees’ development by coaching, delegating and constructive feedback practices. Identifies of areas for employees’ development.
  • Reports to the manager staff issues and contributes to the creation of staff retention and motivation systems.

 

  • Degree in accounting / finance required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience on a similar position
  • Experience in GL is a must, transition experience will be an advantage
  • SAP knowledge is required
  • High level customer service skills
  • Well organized

  • Impact and influence skill
  • Flexibility, ability to deal with ambiguity and change
  • Ability to work under pressure
