Applications & Product Specialist

Phenom-World is the leading global supplier of desktop scanning electron microscopes (SEM) and analysis solutions. Our SEM-based systems are used worldwide in a broad range of markets and applications. We continuously invest, develop and integrate our products to help customers improve their user-experience, return-on-investment, time-to-data, and to increase and improve system functionality.

We are looking for a highly motivated Applications & Product Specialist who will strengthen our team, currently consisting of 4 international Applications & Products Specialists and a Software Applications Engineer. 

Job description
You will become the specialist in working with the different Phenom desktop scanning electron microscopes. As an Applications & Product Specialist you will have various responsibilities towards the Sales, Product and R&D departments, such as gathering, converting and testing user requirements into new product updates or developments. You will also be supporting our distributors in positioning and selling our products. Finally, you will interact with end customers on a regular basis to optimize our technology for their applications. 

Tasks and responsibilities

• Give technical & commercial product support (mail, online, on site) towards our distributors
• Provide product related technical info for marketing and training purposes
• Conduct parts of the sales/application training, in house or at the customer site
• Test new product software and hardware developments
• Recognize potential new applications or market needs
• Provide user specifications for product improvements or new products towards product management

• Successfully completed a technical study, Bachelor or Master degree (Higher Education or University) in: applied science, material science & engineering, mechatronics, biotechnology or a related discipline.
• Preferably experience in converting and driving customer requests into product development (in close contact with the product manager).
• Willingness to dive into a wide variation of other application oriented disciplines, such as biology, surface science, mineralogy, etc.
• Preferably a few years of working experience.
• Training experience e.g. student supervision or seminars
• Technical writing skills for writing scientific materials for commercial purpose
• Team player with cultural awareness.
• Fluent in English and preferably Dutch.
• Willingness and ability to travel worldwide(~25%).

You will be located at the head-quarters of Phenom-World in Eindhoven.
