Location: WroclawIRRBB (Interest Rate Risk in Banking Book) project provides a framework to calculate NII (Net interest income) at risk and related figures. It further facilitates internal and regulatory reporting needs to achieve compliance with the FINMA regulations, based on BCBS 368 standards for Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book.
IRRBB IT is responsible for leading and executing IT deliveries focused on ALM IRRBB Programme and manages the platform. IT team is providing and supporting third party application which is hosted on MS Windows servers installed on virtual machines in AWS Cloud.
AWS Cloud team is build around four core people currently located in Poland (3) and India (1). We are looking to increase size of the team by 2 additional people in 2021 as we will face challenges related to migration of current set up into Credit Suisse central AWS account.
While analysing current Cloud set up several issues have been identified, much of which is legacy configuration, making it difficult to manage and develop. We are in need of streamlining and restructuring of AWS infrastructure. For example:
- critical services spread over several accounts
- several machines of unclear purpose and configuration
- lack of clear/up-to-date documentation of legacy build makes it difficult to clean up the environment
- several security issues
It is difficult to support current AWS Cloud because of depth of skills required to do things from basic OS patching, AD maintenance through AWS configuration and IP network set-up ending up with MSSQL Database support and Powershell scripting. Our team is doing excellent job covering all of those.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Building new environment for IRRBB in Amazon Web Services using:
o Compute services (EC2, Lambda)
o Storage services (S3)
o Snapshots & Backups
o Network configuration (VPC)
o Management (Cloudwatch, CloudTrail, Config, System manager)
o Security & Identity (IAM, HSM, Resource access management)
o Cost Management
Configuring and automating Windows server machines:
o Applying system upgrades and security patches
o McAfee antivirus
o DNS server
o AD DS
o HPC Cluster
Microsoft SQL Databases
o SQL Server
o Analysis Server
