Opis stanowiska pracy

The Additive Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for ensuring steady state production of additive hardware that is defect free, and continuously improves the full process with the end goal of achieving a 100% value-add process.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing the build, inspection, and post processing of additive hardware
  • Develop, qualify, and refine manufacturing processes to bring products from prototype to high-volume production including support of certification efforts as required
  • Work with design engineers to evaluate designs for manufacturability and implementation in a rapidly-evolving production environment
  • Interface with other engineers, subject matter experts, and technicians to solve production challenges
  • Resolve non-conformances and work with the Quality team to implement root cause corrective actions, and drive process improvements to eliminate defects
  • Identify, plan, and execute capital equipment, machine, and layout upgrades to the meet volume production demand
  • Produce reports, procedures, and manuals to document results to mature development processes for production
  • Work with Materials Engineers to investigate properties, geometric accuracy, and surface finish results to optimize print parameters, heat treatments, and design allowables for existing and new alloys

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, or other engineering discipline
  • At least 1 year of hands-on fabrication, assembly, and/or testing experience via internships, labs, outside the classroom extracurricular activities, or professional industry experience
  • Experience with metallic manufacturing techniques, equipment, or other processes such as machining, welding, tube bending, structural assembly, sheet metal forming, etc.
  • Experience with NX or other solid modeling software including generating, reading, and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T

Preferred Skills And Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing industry specifically related to metallic components, weldments, and subassemblies
  • Experience providing engineering dispositions on non-conforming hardware, developing rework processes, and implementing preventative solutions to reoccurring manufacturing issues
  • Experience with operating additive machines, including parameter development and process control
  • Experience with additive simulation and topology optimization software
  • Familiarity with common engineering materials properties (strength, life, thermal, fluid compatibility etc.) and processing attributes particularly for titanium or nickel-based alloys
  • Experience setting up and running multifactorial design of experiments (DOE’s)
  • Ability to perform trade studies using first principals and engineering fundamentals
  • Proficient in basic principles of compressible and incompressible flow, thermodynamics, thermochemistry, mechanics, materials, and electrical circuits
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to succinctly present recommendations
  • Passion for advancing the commercial space industry and human spaceflight
  • Able to work well in an integrated collaborative team environment
  • Highly self-motivated and able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Highly adaptable to support evolving business needs

Additonal Requirements

  • Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed
