As a Supply Chain Specialist (SCS) in our Operational Supply Chain team, you will be assigned the responsibility of coordinating the supply chain requirements for one or more assigned drilling rigs within Maersk Drilling fleet. The main priority of the role is day to day purchasing (placing POs, expediting and invoice matching) including but not limited to supply planning and execution, logistics, contract management, supplier relationship management, inventory optimization within global fleet, cost management, and operational readiness. The SCS manages most rig purchasing and is the daily link between the overall Operational Supply Chain team and the rig team. He/she ensures timely delivery of equipment, spare parts, rentals, services and supplies in the correct quantity, with the correct quality, at prices which reduce the total cost & value of ownership. The SCS actively works on cost savings initiatives regionally/globally. The Supply Chain Management (SCM) team is part of the Global Business Solutions department (a consolidation of four support functions i.e. Finance, HR, IT and SCM), focused on delivering customized solutions to our colleagues in Maersk Drilling – onshore as well as offshore. The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for the following tasks for each of their rigs:

  • Responsible for the entire Procure (& Source) to Pay process for spares and services requiring technical expertise including RFx’s, invoice handling etc. for the assigned rig(s)
  • Plan, execute and follow up on Goods Purchase, Hire, Repairs, and Services orders.
  • Establish good teamwork with the logistics team with main focus on continuous improvement of overall logistics flow
  • Facilitate planned Procurement and Logistics meetings to address challenges, clarify processes, and minimize processing time
  • Support the local & regional content contract management lifecycle for technical categories incl. going to market (e.g. sourcing new fit for purpose contracts for a specific region)
  • Liaise with category and contract management team for new contracts, extensions, reviews, termination, and feedback
  • Responsible for arranging regular meetings and supplier follow up as required
  • Engage with rig team when preparing for stacking, site move, and contract start-ups in terms of logistics, risk, and opportunities
  • Monitor Posting Proposal queue to ensure timely payment of invoices
  • Coordinate with rig team to meet and improve KPIs from the rig scorecard
  • All roles and responsibilities should be performed in compliance to our SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
  • Be part of improvement and optimization projects
  • Out of hours support to the rig team during emergency rig shut down situations
  • Maintain spend & savings report for rig(s), establish project pipeline and register all projects in S2P tool

Who we are looking for
  • A formal education with minimum a bachelor level degree or equivalent within relevant field(s)
  • Proactive mind-set with the curiosity to challenge the status quo & improve the business
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and guidance
  • Good communication, relationship and networking skills
  • Strong proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Fluency in English is a pre-requisite
  • Experience within Purchasing is not a prerequisite but preferred
  • Drive and capacity to learn fast
