Solution Architect in Data Architecture

Currently, we are looking for a Solution Architect to help implement and design some of key projects for our Client - one of the largest banking and financial services organizations in the world, providing a comprehensive range of financial services to around 60 million customers.

You will be a key player within global projects from the Commercial Banking (CMB) business in Commercial Banking Data Architecture team, in support of IT software delivery.

Main tasks:

• Implementing the future state architecture visions for projects from the commercial banking area
• Liaise with key consumers to shape all required services for publish / subscribe, request / response web services, batch etc.
• Development and support of Integration standards, patterns, strategies, roadmaps and architectures
• Working closely with the engineering teams and other stakeholders to meet the projects requirements aligned with Group standards, IT and business strategy
• Manage relationship with development and infrastructure teams and provide technical design assurance
• Preparing clear solution options and providing analysis on benefits/challenges
• Providing expertise on new technologies and how they may be applied in pragmatic ways, to deliver commercially sound and innovative ways of addressing new and existing business challenges
• Identifying operational and delivery risks
• Maintaining governance on architecture. Designing and implementing standards and target operating models for IT activities
• Ensuring that architecture results are compliant with the stated requirements, approved technologies, best practices and Group strategies

Requirements:

• Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Enterprise and Solution Architecture, preferably in a global organisation
• University graduate of Computer Science/IT-related field, preferably with major in Software/System engineering or relevant working experience in the field
• A strong knowledge of Integration Models (Middleware/SOA/ESB/API/Web Services)
• Past working experience in Integration applications
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation with good command of written and spoken English
• Able to work with multiple stakeholders geographically dispersed across multiple teams
• Able to organise and prioritise tasks in order to deliver across multiple work-streams
• Passion for the detail, an understanding of governance, deep experience in system integration, and a capability to frame and deliver a compelling argument
• Able to ensure Enterprise Architectural integrity across differing types of initiatives within a rapidly evolving environment

Optional skills:

• Experience of working with Agile methodologies and understanding the way they can work effectively within Enterprise Data Architectural frameworks
• Experience of working with integration and ETL technologies such as: MuleSoft, Data Stage, IBM WebSphere MQ Series etc.
• A general understanding of Big Data and Traditional Data Warehousing approaches, practices and technologies would be an asset
• Experience working in Financial Services, especially Banking will be an advantage
