PANDORA, one of the world’s largest jewelry brands, is currently looking for a Senior Tax Accountant (VAT Team, GL department) for its Financial Shared Service Centre for EMEA Region in Warsaw, willing to support the success of this unique brand.
ROLE PURPOSE
Handle indirect taxes reporting and selected statistical reporting for EMEA entities.
Support Group Tax in handling indirect tax projects and audits.
Oversee and ensure that all transactions are processed timely, with efficiency and quality according to predefined standards and deadlines.
Handle and take ownership of queries from internal customers and Tax Authorities in a timely manner.
MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and deliver timely and accurately VAT returns to Tax Authorities.
- Complete all VAT related accounting activities upon which VAT returns depend, including control checks of transaction data and review of supporting tax documentation to identify any errors or anomalies. Ensure that errors are corrected and that remedial action is taken to minimise the likelihood of similar errors in future.
- Perform review of VAT registers.
- Prepare Intrastat and ECSL/ECPL reporting.
- Reconcile VAT, Intrastat and ECSL/ECPL reporting data.
- Perform selected statistical / customs / excise reporting.
- Provide assistance for tax audits and statutory audits.
- Perform VAT balance sheet accounts analysis.
- Perform VAT probability check.
- Archive all submitted returns/reports and correspondence with the authorities.
- Oversee work of more junior accountants.
- Perform training of junior staff.
- Be a role model for junior staff.
- Initiate ideas to improve tax-related processes.
- Assistance with AX system modifications to reflect changes in legislation and business transactions.
- Support Group Tax with the global VAT projects.
REQUIREMENTS
- Master Degree in Finance/Accounting/Tax.
- 3-6 years of experience with accounting, finance or tax department from an international company.
- Work experience in indirect tax return preparation/review would be an advantage.
- Fluent English is a must.
- Preferably knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX or similar ERP system.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and particularly MS Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work under time/quality pressure.
