Senior Hydroprocessing Technologist


Job Description

Brunel is seeking candidates for one of the worldwide leaders in Oil&Gas industry for the vacancy based in the company's Project and Technology department in Amsterdam. The office is dedicated to develop process technology services for the Europe/Middle East/Africa region and provides cost effective and innovative technology solutions to help othe client's business partners achieve top quartile performance.

The main activities are:
- technical advice:
- on-site assistance,
- process design work for revamps and new units,
- know how/experience transfer and Process and Catalyst Research & Development.

The company delivers these services on subjects primarily related to the Oil Products, Chemicals and Gas businesses

Requirements

The successful applicant will be part of the PTD/TRH (Refining Hydroprocessing) team in STCA (Amsterdam) and will:
- Provide skilled refining process technology advice on optimal operation, catalyst selection, process & reaction kinetics modeling and evaluation of plant-catalyst performance;
- Provide technological advice into Turn-Around (TA) planning, and inspection support-reporting during the TA. Supports Plant start-up and operation thereafter.
- Lead refining process technology licensing support to the licensing business.
- Develop and Lead process designs for revamps and new units.
- Lead in margin improvement and energy reduction activities, technical audits, safety audits. Where relevant, also lead network in catalyst-process optimisation efforts (with Criterion).
- Participate in process development studies & provides process engineering input over a full project life cycle, from concept, FEED, through to successful start-up/operation in Shell, Joint Ventures and 3rd party refineries.
- Participate in refining margin improvement and energy reduction activities, technical audits.
- Adhere to quality standards and ensure that all HSE, Group, Regulatory, Quality, and other appropriate standards are complied with.
Requirements:
The successful candidate should have the following qualifications:
- Sound Chemical Process Engineering (PE) with minimum 3 years Refining field experience in either Operations, Advanced Process Control, Supply Chain Optimisation Programming or in at least one relevant refining technology;
- Skill competency level in his/her discipline, with demonstrated capability in process engineering simulation programming and modeling;
- Strong in Mathematics and demonstrated analytical skill
- Knowledge of refining-hydroprocessing technologies, feedstocks, products and applications
- Fully mastered written and spoken English.
