Scala Developer
Location: KrakowThe Platform processes vast amount of financial market trade transactions, feeds and events throughout the investment bank of HSBC and consolidates them onto Big Data architecture. It's used by global teams of 500 Finance Controllers and Liquidity Managers.
The project is challenging not only from the engineering point, as it aims to consolidate data from complex various sources into one platform, but it also requires to acquire in-depth banking domain knowledge.
Who we are: OTC Client Clearing, small IT team located entirely in Krakow, part of HSBC Global Banking and Markets IT. We are experienced Scala software engineers.
What we do: we build a solution for automated OTC trading.
What you will learn how to:
- Produce usable, efficient and elegant Scala code.
- Build a microservice based solution and make it live.
- Monitor production and keep it stable.
- Use your programming skills to solve real life problems.
- Understand business domain thanks to co-located business representatives.
The way we work: We constantly provide new business functionalities, develop the trading platform and improve/automate our work environment. Production is our key responsibility, therefore we put a lot of stress on testing and security. We follow TDD principles.
RESPONSIBILITIES
You and your teammates are responsible for all aspects of delivering software to your users i.e.
- Development
- Automating testing and deployment of small and frequent releases
- Communication with stakeholders on features and requirements
- Production availability of your service - if you build a service you own the service.
SKILLS
MUST
- Open minded and eager to learn
- Experience in object oriented programming (Java)
- Experience in functional programming (e.g. Scala)
- Understanding of the CI/CD pipeline
- Experience in Linux
- Communicative English
