Our client is a professional Agriculture organization, based in Zuid-Holland Netherlands.
Our client is an independent research organisation providing for quality in research done by commercial organisations. Having had a look at the future and developments in the field of agricultural research, our client is looking to create a bioinformatics group within the organisation. Currently we are looking for the right person to lead such a group with good knowledge of bioinformatics.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
As researcher Bioinformatician you will work together with junior bioinformatician, specifically concerning their research in molecular variety identification and detecting plant pathogens. This supporting role is to be carried out next to your own projects analyzing sequence data using bioinformatic tools.
Work is done on a project basis with colleagues and universities, research institutes and commercial organisations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Doing bioinformatic research on a project basis;
- Setting up a team of bioinformaticians and ensuring the quality of their work;
- Developing relations internally as well as externally.
REQUIREMENTS
- Master or PhD in Bioinformatics, Data Analysis, Biology or comparable due to work experience;
- Fluent in English, Dutch would be a strong plus;
- Excellent programming skills in Java, Perl, Python or R;
- Experience with programming, designing pipelines and scripts for large data sets (NGS Data);
- Proven experience coordinating projects and worked with Statistic methods and Database design;
