Regional Purchasing Agent (m/f)

The Recruitment Purchasing Agent position will be responsible to generate sourcing strategies and manage the supply base to attain company quality, delivery, and cost goals. This position will require strong project management skills, cross-functional coordination, and regular communications with Engineering and North American based departments amongst other pertinent business units to form an overall sourcing strategy.

Our customer is a leading international company of automotive sector. Due to further development and a need to strengthen personnel we are searching for an experienced purchasing professional experienced in project management as well.

Description

A person hired on this position will be responsible for:

  • Implementation of local sourcing strategy considering the relative high mix and low volume specifics within EMEA region
  • Controlling pricing of global suppliers in sync with Global Purchasing
  • Guiding the supplier selection process for new projects and facilitate early involvement of suppliers in design development. Align supplier selection with the commodity strategy
  • Creating, analyzing and validating component piece cost and targets
  • Collaborating with cross-functional organizations and defining the cost methodology to assess a component's material and vendor tooling cost
  • Ensuring that NRE and tooling is appropriate based on cost and quality requirements
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Coordinating the implementation of cost reduction projects, including Value Analysis / Value Engineering projects
  • Participating in and, if necessary, leading problem resolution discussions with suppliers and timeliness of supplier correction action
  • Establishing both short (1 year) and long-term (3 years+) cost reduction approaches for assigned commodities and categories
  • Issuing and analyzing RFQ for new product components and new technologies in line with the sourcing strategy

Profile

  • BS/BA degree in Business, Supply Chain/Operations or Engineering is required
  • Fluent English
  • Minimum of (3-5)+ years of proven purchasing experience working closely with product development engineers with a demonstrated success in developing supplier partnerships
  • Vast experience of localized sourcing
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering documentation, manufacturing process control, and technical data
  • Strong experience in the delivery of complex program management, cross-functional business/capability development and change initiatives
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment - must be collaborative but also must hold their own in articulating and selling best practice procurement approaches
  • Previous experience managing safety critical parts will be an advantage
  • Effective negotiation and decision making and problem solving skills
  • Advanced knowledge of supply contracts with domestic and international suppliers. Advanced knowledge of commodity markets, with capability to analyze data and develop strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to think globally/strategically, turn information into effective strategies and drive results
  • Superior interpersonal, strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities
  • Availability to travel 20-30% travel required, including international travel
  • Open for B2B cooperation
