Purchasing Manager Europe (m/f)
The role is focused on leading, developing, and implementing all aspects of the Purchasing objectives in Europe.

Our customer is a global, well-recognized worldwide manufacturing concern of automotive sector. Due to a dynamic development and a need to strengthen strategic personnel, we are searching for experienced manager in purchasing area.
Description
A person hired on this position will be responsible for:
- Managing all production and non-production material procurement for two European facilities
- Managing team of direct reports and associated teams located within Europe region
- Development and implementation of organizational, commodity, and supply base strategies
- Communication with global counterparts and participating in global projects, sourcing activities, initiatives, and strategies
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal departments and customers as well as external supplier partners
- Negotiating supply agreements and implementing contract terms and conditions favorable to ongoing operations
- Identifying cost reduction and innovation opportunities available in the market and making recommendations for implementing within the company
- Identifying global sourcing approaches and strategies taking into consideration total cost impacts
- Participating in and leading global projects intended to drive the commonization of global processes
- Managing and utilizing department resources when required to support other regions
- Developing team targets and annual objectives for cost savings and ensuring they are met
- Mentoring the team during the execution of newly developed strategies to support corporate objectives
- Managing suppliers using KPI's and metrics to drive performance improvement and ensure quality
- Interfacing with and reporting out to leadership teams within the region and also globally, as required
Profile
- Engineering or Business Management degree
- Minimum of 7-10 years of work experience in purchasing, engineering, or other supply chain related fields in a global environment and production company
- English language skills required, German language skills a plus
- Strong negotiations and management skills
- Knowledge and experience with steel commodities and/or metal markets will be an advantage
- Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills required
- Strong sense of responsibility and ability to work on own initiative
- Readiness for approximately 10-15% domestic and global travel required
- Willingness to relocate in case of persons from other parts of Poland
