Our client is a professional Agriculture organization, based in Netherlands.
The company of our client is an internationally focused tree fruit breeding business. The company is specialized in breeding these fruits around the world. Their recognized brands can be found in the supermarkets. Their breeding programs are set-up in different parts of the word to make the most out of their fruits. The organization is innovating through gross breeding for taste and structure.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
You will assess current breeding programs. Doing so in order to enable the products to advance in taste, producing and growth. In the role of project breeder within this organization you will maximize quality and breeding processes and opportunities using the results of the research centers and plantations. In these areas it is important to align the desired and actual outcome of the breeding project. Furthermore, asses and process the actual breeding result for future breeding programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In your role as project breeder you will need to showcase experience and knowledge in the following areas:
• Project management of the breeding program in which input and output is aligned
• Communication with plantation experts and breeders
• Focus on the development of breeding projects and formulate key areas to enhance performance
• Further improve and teach breeders about the fruit development techniques
REQUIREMENTS
To successfully fill this role as an Quality/Breeding manager, you should have the skills, attitude and behavior that follow:
• Phd in Agricultural related fields or MSc in this area
• Between 5-10 years of experience in the breeding industry
• Strong breeding, planning, project management and research knowledge
• Fluent in English and Spanish is a must and multiple foreign languages are an advantage
• Proven communication skills and project management experience and willing to travel
• Mentoring abilities to anticipate to challenges brought forward by the development and plantation teams
