We are currently looking for potential candidate with our Client with over 35 years of industry experience. Creative Composites was formed in 2000 to develop the use of composites into new markets and for new applications and it is the UK’s most advanced composites manufacturer. They collaborate with the design and engineering departments of major blue chip companies where the knowledge of composites enhances the manufacture of commercially successful products. They believe that the best products come from Creative Design, Creative Manufacturing and Creative Service.

Position: Production Manager

Salary: £35,000 +

Hours per week: Approx 40

Job Type: Permanent

 

Job Criteria:

The ideal candidate will be a pro-active, self-confident and flexible individual, who uses initiative to seek

opportunities and is prepared to take decisions. They will be adaptable and flexible with the ability to develop

the team members to achieve, or exceed, the business plan performance expectations, in terms of Safety,

Machine, Quality, Delivery and Cost in an ISO 18001, 14001, 9001 and TS14969 environment. Personal

attributes to include:

  •  A degree in Engineering – ideally Manufacturing
  • 5 years manufacturing experience, preferably gained within a highly regulated environment
  • Experience of managing technical teams such as Engineering or Quality Assurance
  • Previous experience in implementing and leading continuous improvement projects to include Lean manufacturing tools like six sigma, kaizen, 5S, Standard work, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping
  • Apply expert knowledge in continuous improvement methods to improve OEE and EF performance, quality, reduce cost, inefficiencies and waste and improve customer service levels
  • Ensuring that the production is cost effective e.g. yields, waste, efficiency targets are being achieved
  • Highly Computer literate – Microsoft Office, TMS and ERP applications

 

Job duties:

The following list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the post holder will be required to undertake

such tasks and working patterns as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the post.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Create, lead and deliver the business strategy throughout the team for a lean organisation and to optimise employee engagement in improvement activities through tracking indicators, recruitment activities, teambuilding and communication.
  • Review current ways of working within the factory in terms of product, skills and process flow, making suitable recommendations in terms of improvement using continuous improvement techniques and providing specialised guidance, strategy, policy and practices to be used.
  • Manage growth. Evaluate, utilise deploy and embed a range of continuous improvement and lean techniques to deliver best in class operational excellence.
  • Implement a root cause problem solving methodology and capability across the factory. Making sure that products are produced on time, are of good quality and within budgets.
  • Agree Planned Maintenance and Operating Schedules and assist with Problem Solving.
  • Ensure the Personal and Departmental Training plan is accurate to needs, undertaken and successful within the current business strategy.
  • Monitoring the production processes and adjusting schedules as needed.
  • Liaising among different departments, e.g. suppliers, managers; quality, stakeholders
  • Working with other managers to implement the company's policies and goals
  • Ensuring that health, safety, environmental, company and quality guidelines are followed
  • Support diversity, coach and highly motivate a skilled effective team of workers
  • Working out the human and material resources needed on a continuous basis
  • Review and evaluate worker performance; appraisals, attendance management, disciplinary.
  • Identifying training needs, update the effectiveness of the current training development plan
  • Manages Section Leaders, provides effective leadership and the delegation of responsibilities and decisions to identify, design and implement a structured
  • Business Improvement plan that optimises factory / employee performance
  • Delivers objectives and provides timely budgetary and production performance data in a meaningful manner and in relation to meeting the strategic aims and needs of the business.
  • Any other duties and working hours/ patterns that may be deemed to be with your capabilities.
