Role Description

Global Design Centre Processing Savoury has strategic role to enable landing of products in the market by efficient application of existing and new processing technologies, including simplified manufacturing.
The role of Process Development Engineer is crucial in that process, as he/she will be responsible for:
• Conducting pilot plant trials to design and confirm process parameters
• Support Core Processing Designs studies within given technologies
• Scale-up and scaling programs within given areas around the world in different projects
• Ensuring compliance of the process design with relevant corporate policies and standards: GMPs and BPPs and contribution to its development, if relevant.
• Ensuring identification, documentation and implementation of best processing practices across regions and given technologies
• Interpretation of processing data
• Providing advice to other UL functions in the subject areas
• Process Development Engineer is part of the GDC Processing Savoury team.

Responsibilities

• Designing and conducting pilot plant trials individually
• Defining operating windows for processing technologies
• Working on scale-up and scaling programs within given areas around the world in different projects
• Understanding of processing technologies constrains and the optimization of design accordingly
• Conducting processing calculations and application of relevant processing models
• Collaboration with external equipment manufacturers to deliver new and improved technology designs
• Monitoring the technology field for improvements in designs, new technologies, training programs etc.
• OTIF delivery of the assigned workstreams in the capacity of Process Engineer
• Application of GMPs and BPPs standards in the assigned projects, in particular the practices concerning product and process design
• Operate according to best practices in technology delivery (Project Execution, Early Product Management, Process Specifications, Process Validation, SIMAS, Quality Verification Program).
• Ensure know-how retention through
• Documentation of project work and sharing it with R&D community
• Contribution to Processing training program
• Apply frameworks, standards, policies and relevant regulations in the assigned responsibilities.

Requirements

• Education: Technical/Bachelor’s degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Food Processing or related areas
• 0-5 years relevant technical experience in process engineering design and/or commissioning, research, development
• Process Design skills relevant for conceptual and feasibility stage of technology development
• Effective working in virtual teams
• Statistical data analysis
• Science & Technology Expertise
• Safety, Hygiene and Regulatory experience.
• Team Behaviour, Open to agile and flexible working
• Willing to be part of the change
