We are working as a recruitment provider searching on our Client's behalf for a person in the following role:
Platform Architect (Digital Architecture)
Key Accountabilities:
Participate in the continued development of architecture standards
Ensure the design/solution is aligned with architecture standards, IT and business strategy, and meet business objectives
Participate in the delivery of architectures for business solutions, focusing mainly on Architecture for small projects
Participate in the introduction of new techniques, products, services, technologies and standards where needed against identified use cases, via the Technology Design Board (TDB) & Technology Catalogue Board (TCB)
Develop an understanding of appropriate Group business systems, their associated requirements and technology usages
Stay abreast of technology trends and advise IT and the business about potential benefits/impacts
Provide a consultancy role to IT and business teams where appropriate
Where appropriate, provide full life cycle architectural guidance to development teams and ensure quality technical deliverables
Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets
Actively promote the benefits of architecture, accepted best practice techniques, standards and tools to other areas of the Group and external suppliers where necessary
Ensure that the highest level of quality for all activities and products are provided.
Receive mentoring and coaching from IT Lead Architects
Perform architecture reviews on aligned Global Business / Global Function systems and ensure both appropriate peer review and Solution Architecture Board (SAB) endorsement is obtained
Ensure that any new technology products are taken through the Technology Design Board (TDB) clear choice/Proof of Concept
Ensure that all existing/new service patterns/deployments guides are taken through the Technology Catalogue Board (TCB)
Adhere to ever greening priorities for Global Business/Global Functions
Requirements:
Experience working in Digital, Agile, DevOps
Experience working in Banking, Insurance, Retail, Media
Past working experience as an Engineer, Architect, Solutions Analyst
Be able to be hands on where needed at any stage of the product lifecycle
Past working experience on one or more of the following; APIs, Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), Mule API Gateway, Amazon Web Services, Splunk, App Dynamics, Docker, kubernetes
Ideally but not essential to be AWS Certified at Associate Architect level
Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered
Contributed productively to team objectives, sometimes supporting and sometimes leading activities to achieve shared goals
Experience of making timely and rational decisions, based on relevant information and experience
Experience of planning and prioritising their own time effectively, aware of their responsibilities and committed to delivering these efficiently
Supported project teams/managers, showing an understanding of the basic principles of project management
The ability to understand and interpret straightforward financial data
