The Job:
Our Client is seeking a strong leader to take responsibility for leading and managing the Poland organisation and further developing the services supplied to their offices.

The successful candidate will maximise the efficiencies of the operation and define a clear strategy to significantly increase the size and contribution of their Poland offices to the company over the next few years. This position will engage with senior managers & report to senior management overseas. The successful candidate will have deep technology project expertise, cemented with strong leadership and entrepreneurial skills. The Poland organisation works in concert with teams overseas and external partners to deliver innovative solutions and broad development and support services to our Government & Large Enterprise customers.

This is a leadership position and will require a high engagement with the staff to ensure collective performance in achieving business objectives. This will be the highest-ranking leadership position within the Poland operation. The person in this role will be an integral member of the senior leadership team and must possess an understanding of the modern technology landscape, and ideally a broad expertise in software project functions. Critically, the person in this role will be expected to develop a strong understanding of the business needs to ensure the Poland team delivers maximum value to the organisation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Establish effective working relationships with staff across both Polish offices and with management
  • Recruit, Lead, mentor and coach the high performing team of software development & IT professionals
  • Liaise closely with the Head of Departments overseas to ensure smooth and proactive resolution of project and/or support issues
  • In conjunction with management, develop and execute the strategy for Poland including growth commensurate with the overall operating model
  • Serve as principal representative in relationships with key public and private partners in Poland
  • Maximise efficiencies across the development teams and ensure smooth running of the Offices and associated infrastructure
  • Effectively manage operating expenses within the established budget; consistently reviewing opportunities for reducing expenses as well as recommending strategic investments
  • Work in close partnership with Management to ensure adoption of application development, operations, infrastructure, and risk management policies and procedures.

Job Specifications:
  • Proven leadership experience in developing and managing a software development centre or software development teams within an organisation
  • Demonstrated ability to attract, lead, manage and build highly skilled technical teams, while also mentoring and managing career paths.
  • Extensive experience (10+years) in the Information Technology, Project Management or Business leadership roles
  • BA/BS degree and/or equivalent experience
  • Strong communication skills – oral, written, listening, executive presentations
  • Leadership & motivational skills; comfortable with public speaking engagements
  • Strong Delivery and execution skills
  • Deep Project and People skills – having deep understanding of the work your team does, be passionate about software and the quality of products built by you and your team.
  • Budgeting and financial management; ability to maximise resources and capacity
  • Experience of quality management and automation systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills; strong team player
  • Demonstrated success in transferring, adopting and adapting business practices to the local operation, especially in an international setting.
  • Willingness to travel
  • Excellent English, spoken and written
