We are working as a recruitment provider searching on our Client's behalf for a person in the following role:
Operational Risk Assistant Manager
Location: Krakow
The owner of this role is responsible for supporting the ORA manager in executing operational risk model runs, producing analysis of model results for use in risk appetite statements, ICAAP and stress testing for the company as well as for portions of the group (e.g. regions, countries, legal entities). The role holder will manage some of the analytics related projects, support the organization of the model governance committees, review panels and planning. He will support also the implementation, monitoring and validation of the models as well as the different review of the model (e.g. Audit, IMR)
Main Duties:
- Ensure development of operational risk models in accordance with the Model Risk FIM, reducing the likelihood of model rejection, IMR or Audit findings.
- Support in providing interpretation of regulatory rules and internal standards to ensure that operational risk models are built and managed in line with regulatory and internal expectations.
- Support co-ordination of GRA ORA’s participation in global and regional projects.
- Help identify, share and implement best practice and ensure people, processes and systems operate in a consistent manner.
- Perform complex and detailed analysis to identify limitations in the models or errors in the calculations
- Support manage ongoing research and development in particular about OpR quantification methods used in the industry
- Produce and maintain some aspects of the validation code and documentation
Requirements:
- University degree and / or Ph.D. in mathematics or physics
- Min. 3 years of experience in a quantitative role in operational risk or finance is a must
- Knowledge of one or more of credit risk, market risk and operational risk.
- Strong technical knowledge of scientific coding and programming tools, for example VBA, C++, Mathematica and MatLab.
- Experiences in working with auditors, regulators and compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a Regional function collaboratively in reaching decisions and solutions.
- Experience within a large, matrix organization.
- Previous experience in a role, across multiple jurisdictions and cultures.
- Strong experience in creating best in class processes and activities
- Fluency in English required - written and oral.
